We are seeking a Senior Manager of Backend Systems to join our team at Classy Wheeler Limited. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of scalable software solutions that meet our business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a collaborative culture between Engineering, Data, and Product teams to achieve future technical roadmap objectives.
  • Lead the engineering team in scaling the backend system, both locally and regionally, ensuring high uptime and reliability.
  • Take full ownership of the team, working internally to groom engineering talents, conduct technical reviews, deliver complex projects, and promote architectural solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing a sizable team with a track record of delivering results.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience in building, managing, and scaling databases, and server-side development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • This role requires occasional travel, agile development, maintaining high system uptime, willingness to grow a team, and the ability to identify low-level details.
