The Hong Kong Palace Museum is seeking a highly skilled professional to join its team as the Manager, Exhibition Planning and Management. As a key member of the museum's operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and successful delivery of dynamic, diverse, and quality exhibitions.

  • Assist the Senior Manager, Exhibition Planning and Management in executing HKPM's exhibition plan, including vetting and drafting proposals, monitoring schedules, and coordinating multiple departments' efforts;
  • Work closely with the Palace Museum, Beijing, and other major museums to prepare correspondence and exhibition-related documentation;
  • Manage exhibit lists, shipping schedules, display requirements, and security provisions, making arrangements for couriers, packing/crating, transit, accommodation, per diems, and installation/deinstallation schedules;
  • Set up and maintain data in the Collection Management System to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and recorded information;
  • Organise exhibition planning meetings to ensure good information flow and smooth delivery of each exhibition;

Requirements:

This position requires a recognised university degree in relevant fields such as art history, museum studies, arts administration, or cultural management. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in exhibition planning, management, and execution or project experience gained in a similar organisation.

  • Possess proven experience in preparing and negotiating agreements/contracts, handling license/permit applications, and managing exhibition logistics;
  • Have robust experience in monitoring exhibition schedules and budgets;
  • Possess excellent organisational and diplomatic skills, as well as personnel management skills when working with large teams;
  • Have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English and Chinese;
