Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to join our team at Classy Wheeler Limited. This role will involve working closely with key business stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and introducing new technologies to address these needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project implementation and various stages across the system development life-cycle, aligning with business needs.
  • Adopt advanced analytic techniques to discover insights for the business, assisting in making informed decisions while exploring new business opportunities.
  • Interface with business users, gathering requirements, and assist in translating them to technical specifications.
  • Work with a variety of Business Intelligence (BI) tools to represent data in a readily understood form by the business.
  • Establish data warehouses through ingestion and correlation with multiple data sources, both structured and unstructured.
  • Data mapping and sanitization to ensure quality of data necessary for accurate representation.
  • Build data cubes and models with datasets and sources, establishing relationships.
  • Proficient experience with application development adopting SDLC, Agile, SCRUM, or related methodology.
  • Facilitate Proof-of-Concepts (POC) and build prototypes to introduce new technologies to the business.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, develop business cases, and draft proposals for evaluation across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with external vendors in researching and adopting new technologies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Strong communication skills, enabling vertical and horizontal communication, as well as driving discussion to ensure precise requirements are understood prior to translating them to technical specifications.
  • Responsible for operating and coaching tools and technologies, ensuring adoption and utilization of these assets.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Company policies, procedures, and ethical requirements, ensuring daily activities are ethically and legally compliant.
  • Support and participate in various ad-hoc assignments or tasks.

Requirements

  • Educational background: Diploma in Information Technology or related disciplines.
  • Preferred: Technical certification in Prince2, PMP, SCRUM, Agile, or related.
  • Experience Requirements: 5 years in IT, preferably in Banking/Finance and/or Accounting, with solid exposure in application development, e-commerce platforms, and Business Intelligence (BI).
  • Hands-on experience with software development life-cycle, adopting best practices and methodologies not limited to SDLC, Agile, SCRUM, etc.
  • Practical experience in implementing and supporting application systems for banking and finance desired.
  • Proficient in leveraging tools like Oracle Fusion Middleware, 11g R2 Forms & Reports, Crystal Reports, SQL programming, VBscript, PowerShell, and Excel.
  • Working experience with Relational Database Systems (RDBS), including MySQL, SQL, and Oracle.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, etc.
  • Experience with Data Mining and Data Warehousing.
  • Working experience with systems development in Wintel and A|X/UNIX/LINUX environments.
  • Solid understanding of IT architecture, integration, and design.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work across IT teams.
  • Entrepreneur mindset and results-driven, with the ability to look at the bigger picture.
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese (Putonghua is an advantage).

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
