About the Role:
Mace is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Manager to join our team and lead projects and activities within a strategic client account. As a key member of our Global Responsible Business team, you will be responsible for delivering service excellence and agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects and activities within a strategic client account, delivering service excellence and agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality requirements.
- Guide and coordinate with all relevant parties to understand and deliver project objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide day-to-day management and leadership of the project and the project team, and client relationship.
- Deliver client-facing consultancy services, including the advisory, management, and coordination of various climate change, sustainability, and/or social value-related activities on projects and/or programs.
- Support Mace's wider corporate ambitions to reduce client carbon emissions by 10 million tonnes, generate £700m value to society, and deliver 500 hectares of new biodiversity net gain.
Requirements:
- Practical experience in the following sectors: Corporate Real Estate and/or Retail.
- A leader in the implementation of environmental policy, parameters, regulatory limitations, including alignment to SBTi and carbon neutrality.
- Experience in delivering initiatives for waste and water reduction in capital programs.
- BEAM Assessor, LEED, and/or WELL experience is preferred.
- Experience in the development and operation of strategic sustainability measures to enhance reputation and stakeholder relationships through delivering wider social, economic, and environmental benefits and value.
- Experience in the development of client climate change, sustainability, and/or social value strategies on individual projects and programs, including agreeing project outcomes and ensuring their delivery by the project team.
- Experience in project, contractor, stakeholder engagement, or delivering employment & skills requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and energy reduction, in new build and refurbishment projects, including program, cost, and operational impacts of NZC strategies.
- Proven track record of driving design teams to understand and respond to environmental constraints and opportunities to maximize positive environmental benefits.
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to translate technical topics into layperson's language and articulate the value of sustainability.
- Champion sustainability and be a leader, encouraging behavioral change throughout the business.
- Developing innovation and best practice, including clearly communicating these to the wider business and our clients.
- Bid support – support work winning/bidding with strong business acumen.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with client and stakeholders, including design team members, contractors, sub-contractors, and regulatory.
