Role Overview

The Taiwanese dollar IRS desk is seeking a Trainee Broker to join their Hong Kong team, providing an entry-level role into the world of broking with on-the-job training and exposure to the financial markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Tullett Prebon as a company and provide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk.
  • Ensure timely input of trades into trading systems and resolve any trade queries received internally and externally.
  • Identify trade opportunities and calculate strategies, keeping trade records up to date and updating real-time manual/electronic whiteboards with market data.
  • Provide input on various projects for brokers and traders, as well as trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis.
  • Give live quotes to traders through messaging systems and monitor markets, following financial news and developments.
  • Understand the underlying products being traded and keep up to date with knowledge of new products/procedures.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their business objectives and provide a reliable and efficient broking service.
  • Develop new business with existing clients and onboard new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team.
Experience/Competences
  • Diploma holder or above in any discipline.
  • Fluent spoken Mandarin and conversational English.
  • Outgoing and good communication skills.

Desired qualifications include understanding the social and cultural context of Taiwan, having been studying or living in Taiwan, and having 1-2 years of working experience or Taiwanese language skills.
