Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our software development team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, testing, delivering, maintaining, and improving business applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deliver, maintain, and improve business applications as a member of a team, working across full-stack through the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Translate user requirements into software requirements.
  • Build, code, test, maintain high-quality software and comply with specifications and standards.
  • Lead offshore development teams to deliver projects in an agile squad.
  • Revamp existing systems into cloud-native platforms.
  • Complete and ensure completion of any required documentation, such as deployment, maintenance, support, and business needs.

Requirements

  • University graduate in Computer Science preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 10 years of solid working experience in engineering roles.
  • Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features.
  • Experience working on large-scale transformation projects.
  • Good DevOps, API, and Web app development skills (technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Angular, React, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Message queue).
  • Experience in Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience in RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
  • Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills, and methods.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion.
  • Good verbal and written communication; effectively articulates technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.

Nice to Haves

  • Exposure to Data platforms such as Databricks, Apache Spark.
  • Exposure in other PaaS such as Salesforce, Alibaba Cloud.
  • Exposure in Campaign Management systems.
  • Knowledge in SonarQube, Snyk Code, Burp Suite, or other security scanning tools.
  • Knowledge in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
