Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the Learning Support team, planning and implementing information literacy programs, and providing reference and instructional services to students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of the Learning Support team, including usage statistics, reporting, staff supervision, training, and budget management.
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, promote, and evaluate the library's information literacy programs, including orientations, workshops, cultural events, and reference services.
  • Create and deliver digital learning objects, subject guides, and other information literacy-related web content through different online platforms.
  • Serve as library liaison to work with faculties and the Collection Development team to build and manage library collections in different subject areas.
  • Partner with faculties and other offices to embed library instruction and support into the curriculum and foster collaboration between academics and the Library.
  • Derive innovative measures to promote information literacy programs and related library services and facilities.
  • Represent the Library in different committees and task forces both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, particularly in the Humanities, Business, or Social Sciences.
  • A recognized professional qualification in Librarianship (MLS or equivalent).
  • At least 1-3 years of relevant post-qualification working experience in libraries, preferably in academic libraries.
  • Sound knowledge of information literacy, current and emerging trends in reference services, research support, intellectual property, and copyright issues.
  • A good command of English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, independently, and in teams.
