Job Description

The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Scientific Conditioning Coach to join our team. As a key member of the Scientific Conditioning Center, you will play a vital role in implementing safe and effective training programs for athletes.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing training programs under the guidance of senior staff;
  • Supervising and managing the daily operation of the Fitness Training Centre;
  • Collaborating with the Sports Medicine Centre to develop injury rehabilitation programs;
  • Maintaining a database of training records and monitoring athlete progress;
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends in Strength and Conditioning for peak performance;

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A university degree or diploma in strength and conditioning, sports science, or a related field;
  • Valid strength and conditioning specialist certification or equivalent qualification;
  • First aid, CPR, and AED certification;
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in strength and conditioning, or equivalent experience as an athlete within a high-performance system;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work irregular hours and perform under pressure;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office;
  • Fluent spoken and written English, with the ability to speak Putonghua and/or Chinese advantageous;
  • Awareness of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong an added advantage;

In order to succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and practices;
  • Ability to design and implement effective training programs;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office;
