Senior Application Development Manager (Life Insurance)

At Bank of China, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Development Manager to lead our life insurance applications development team. As a key member of our Information Technology Department, you will be responsible for driving the development and enhancement of our life insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and enhancement of life insurance applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
  • Perform feasibility studies, functional design, technical design, and produce specifications for new applications and enhancements.
  • Manage and lead a team of offshore developers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, users, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project delivery within defined scope and quality.
  • Perform system testing, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and liaise with internal teams, users, and external vendors to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
  • Perform system maintenance and production support to ensure system reliability and uptime.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder with a major in Computer Science or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience in system analysis, application/architecture design, system development, and implementation across multiple platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with Linux, WebSphere, Java, JavaScript, shell script, and MQ.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of organization and staff.
  • Good team player, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of life insurance products, life operations, regulatory requirements, and/or agency operations is an advantage.
  • Good command of both written and spoken Chinese and English, with knowledge of Mandarin being a plus.
