Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate/Postdoc/Research Assistant to join our team at the City University of Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and participating in the deployment and monitoring of eco-engineering projects, including an oyster reef restoration project.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage fieldwork and laboratory work, including species identification and data analysis.
- Participate in the development and implementation of research projects, including writing reports and analyzing statistics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals and funding applications.
- PhD in Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role in scientific projects.
- SCUBA diving qualifications and experience, with familiarity with Hong Kong marine species, particularly fishes.
- Familiarity with academic and scientific writing, as well as data analysis techniques.
- First aid qualifications and experience with remote spatial management technology, DNA analysis, and photography/drone operation are preferred.
