The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is establishing a research center focused on Generative AI and is seeking highly motivated researchers to join our dynamic team. The appointees will have the opportunity to participate in the whole product life cycle of research and development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct academic research and develop large language models (LLMs) and their applications in various subjects.
- Participate in the development of LLMs, including pre-training, continual learning, and human alignment.
- Apply LLMs in various domains, including domain-specific LLMs and LLM agents applications.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related science or engineering areas; a doctorate degree is a must for Post-doctoral Fellow/Research Associate positions.
- A deep understanding and extensive experience in one or more LLM-related areas, such as data curation, pre-training, fine-tuning, and quantization.
- Proficiency in one or more LLM-related R&D frameworks, including megatron, deepspeed, and ColossalAI.
- Proficiency in academic research in related areas with a proven track record of publications.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages, including C/C++, Python, and Shell.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for solving challenging problems.
- Industry experience or related product knowledge is a plus.
