The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Scientific Conditioning Coach to join our team.
As an integral part of our Scientific Conditioning Center, this role will be responsible for implementing safe and effective training programs for athletes under the guidance of senior staff. Key duties include supervising daily operations in the Fitness Training Centre, overseeing injured athletes' training in cooperation with the Sports Medicine Centre, and maintaining the fitness area and equipment.
This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of athlete, coach, and management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of strength and conditioning principles, as well as experience working in a high-performance environment. A university degree or diploma in strength and conditioning, sports science, or a related discipline is essential, along with valid strength and conditioning specialist certification or a related qualification.
In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will demonstrate conscientiousness and accuracy in monitoring athletes, recording data, and reporting. Ability to work irregular hours and perform under pressure is also required. Proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office is necessary, and excellent command of both spoken and written English is expected. Ability to speak Putonghua and/or Chinese is a definite advantage.
The appointed candidate will be responsible for performing various duties, including fitness and field-testing on athletes, collaborating with other disciplines, providing on-field support to elite sports teams, and centralizing and maintaining a database for all training records. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to contribute to the success of our athletes and teams.
