Job Overview

Orient Overseas Container Line Limited is looking for a highly skilled New Building Project Supervisor to manage the construction of new buildings in our Hong Kong office.

Key Responsibilities

  • To oversee the entire construction process, from planning to delivery, ensuring all aspects meet our high standards.
  • Collaborate with shipbuilders, designers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process.
  • To ensure timely completion of projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • To maintain accurate records, drawings, technical data, and electronic filing systems.
  • To identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance our construction processes.
  • To perform any other duties as required by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Naval Architecture.
  • At least 5 years' relevant working experience in ship structure design and/or general design, or plan approval on hull parts in major Classification Societies, preferably on large container vessels.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in shipyards on quality control or hull inspection.
  • Familiarity with IMO, Class rules, and regulations, ship design, and shipbuilding, with industry practice and quality standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Computer (MS Office, AutoCAD, and Technical software).
  • Mature, self-motivated, deadline-driven, diligent, and willing to work under pressure and overtime; willing to work home or abroad for long periods.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese; good command of Putonghua a plus.
