About the Role

The Asia Pacific Corporate Access Originator will be part of a team responsible for originating and executing corporate access events across APAC. This involves initiating events to enhance Wellington's brand among listed companies, coordinating access to corporates, experts, and government entities. Responsibilities include site visits, conference calls, roadshows, investment conferences, and bespoke field trips. To succeed in this role, you'll need knowledge of the market and investment process, as well as proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with companies and generate content for corporate access events based on investment professionals' needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop internal relationships with investors to understand their investment philosophies and processes to originate events effectively.
  • Engage with the Investor Relations community in partnership with the corporate access team to strengthen Wellington's corporate partnerships and brand.
  • Assist in centralizing and coordinating all corporate access activity across APAC, with a focus on Japan.
  • Engage with investment professionals globally to gain an understanding of their requirements in APAC.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts in other geographical locations to provide corporate access updates and opportunities.
  • Work closely with sell-side counterparts, brokers, and third-party vendors to manage corporate access activity efficiently.
  • Solve problems and liaise with research providers to create optimal conference schedules for our investment professionals.
  • Help develop and utilize technology to enhance the corporate access process.
  • Update and analyze current processes and procedures, suggesting improvements and assisting with training.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of relevant experience within financial services, particularly corporate access and investor relations across the APAC region (deep knowledge of Japan or Hong Kong/China markets is essential).
  • A strong team player with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for corporate access and its importance in the investment process.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with companies and initiate/deliver events based on market trends and knowledge.
  • A service-oriented attitude and mindset.
  • A self-starter who can think strategically and has a desire to learn.
  • Ability to develop relationships with investment professionals to understand and empathize with their needs as investors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A highly motivated and proactive individual capable of working independently.
  • A high attention to detail and consistency in following through; accuracy is crucial in all work.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask as needed.
  • Diplomacy and strength to defend the right decision in visible situations, as well as the ability to cope in fast-paced, pressurized environments.
  • Fluency in English and either Mandarin and/or Japanese language skills are highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database skills are also preferred.
