Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Operations Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Investment Operations Outsourcing Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Market Operations service, focusing on trade lifecycle and settlement, issue resolution, and analytical and procedural competence with an understanding of both middle office and custody operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversight of trade management and support, settlement, reconciliation, pricing, and valuations across clients' accounts.
  2. Providing client service through the execution of daily functions and tasks within the Investment Operations Outsourcing Team.
  3. All post-execution trade activity and servicing required to support clients' front office.
  4. Communication with brokers, custodians, internal stakeholders, and other third-party providers on trade lifecycle events and exceptions.
  5. Oversight of offshore production of operational activity across middle office and custody records.
  6. Works with and assists offshore production teams with investigations and queries through to resolution.
  7. Tracks all issues by managing operational logs with offshore teams, working with them to remediate all service issues encountered with a proposed plan for resolution.
  8. Works with offshore support teams on new markets, asset classes, or settlement locations to ensure full understanding and processes are in place to support.
  9. Act as a liaison with client service teams to drive issue resolution and Static Data teams for product/asset/account set-up issues.
  10. Assisting with build, completion, and delivery of monthly internal and client KPIs.
  11. Assist Northern Trust project groups as a stakeholder on new business implementations.
  12. Ensuring that all correct control procedures are adhered to and a full audit trail is recorded and maintained at all times.
  13. Provide oversight and support for other Investment Operations partners across a number of areas including FX, Equity, Fixed Income, Unit Registry, and cash.
  14. Assist with the setup of new accounts, broker, and trading enablement for new fund launches, both internal and external.
  15. Support MIS reporting, internal or external audit on trade management functions whenever it is necessary.
  16. Undertake ad hoc assignments or special business projects as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Knowledge of Middle Office operations specifically on trade lifecycle, matching, and settlement.
  2. Experience with Global Equities, Fixed Income, FX, TA, and Money Market Asset Classes.
  3. Strong communication and presentation skills (both oral and written).
  4. Working knowledge of market matching utilities CTM, OMGEO, and MISYS.
  5. Demonstrated client servicing capabilities.
  6. Organizational skills are required to manage conflicting priorities and multi-task functions in a fast-paced team environment.
  7. Relevant experience within investment management/asset servicing industry with the majority of this working directly in an investment operations team.
  8. A good knowledge of the asset servicing industry, acquired through experience in both middle office and custody records, is highly regarded for this position.
Experience
  1. A college or university degree and/or 4-6+ years of relevant work experience.
  2. Previous Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management, and/or Investment Operations experience is a plus.
  3. Previous exposure to business process and/or technology enhancement initiatives is a plus.
  4. Previous Client Service experience in a service-oriented environment is a plus.
