Role Description – Manager
The Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice is on the lookout for top-tier talent for our offices across the region.
The selected Manager will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice and will report directly to the practice leader. The Manager will be involved in a diverse array of projects, encompassing both regional and international initiatives, and will play a pivotal role in sourcing and delivering projects for our esteemed clients, which include leading insurance firms, reinsurance entities, investment banks, legal firms, regulatory bodies, and private equity organizations.
Key responsibilities may include:
Providing thought leadership through the oversight and/or development of intellectual capital Conducting financial projections and analyses Supporting insurance mergers and acquisitions Assisting in capital markets transactions Developing life and annuity products and managing financial reporting Creating client and industry presentations, surveys, and case studies Collaborating with our management consulting and strategy teams Maintaining personal accountability for a portfolio of clients Reviewing pricing assumptions and model methodologies, including benchmarking against industry standards Developing and sustaining intellectual capital Participating in client sales discussionsRequired Skills and Qualifications
Near-FSA/FIA/FIAJ to FSA/FIA/FIAJ or equivalent actuarial qualifications with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience Proven track record of rapid learning, high performance, and professional advancement Familiarity with Hong Kong insurance regulations, including Risk Based Capital (RBC) Understanding of local financial accounting standards such as IFRS-17 Proficiency in financial modeling systems (Prophet or Moody's Analytics AXISTM preferred) Strong written and verbal communication abilities Excellent project and time management skills Capacity to work independently Appreciation for collaboration and effectiveness in team environments Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities Highly motivated with a willingness to thrive in a dynamic setting Advanced technical skills in MS Excel, MS Access, or other database software, as well as programming languages like VBA Proficient in the Microsoft Office suiteThe Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice is dedicated to investing in its workforce by fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere, valuing diverse perspectives, promoting a culture of ownership, providing opportunities for personal brand development, and recognizing achievements and rewarding performance.
