Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe System Administrator to join our team at the Bank of China. Key Responsibilities:

  • System Software Management: Perform software installation, upgrade, and PTF installation to ensure the stability and security of our mainframe systems.
  • Capacity Planning: Manage and review system software capacity license charging to optimize resource utilization.
  • Hardware Management: Carry out hardware changing and upgrade to ensure our systems remain up-to-date and efficient.
  • System Monitoring: Control and monitor development, UAT, production, and DR systems to ensure high availability and security.
  • Infrastructure Management: Ensure our infrastructure complies with group architecture and standards to maintain consistency and efficiency.
  • Performance Tuning: Carry out performance tuning to optimize system resources and improve overall system performance.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze system resources usage and prepare capacity plans to ensure our systems can meet future demands.
  • Resource Management: Manage and utilize system resources to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Security and Availability: Ensure system availability and security control to protect our data and systems from unauthorized access.
  • Process Improvement: Review technologies, systems, and processes for improvement opportunities to enhance our overall IT infrastructure.
  • Project Planning: Prepare project plans for system migration and implementation to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree holder in information technology, computer science, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year working experience in z/OS system administration.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in z/OS, CICS, and DB2 is an added advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and a strong sense of initiative.
  • Work Environment: Able to work independently and effectively in a high-pressure environment against multiple deadlines.
