Li & Fung, a multinational corporation with 118 years of experience in managing complex supply chains for brands and retailers worldwide, seeks a highly dynamic and experienced professional to assume the position of General Manager - Vendor Compliance and Sustainability.
About the RoleThis is a critical leadership role that requires a strong understanding of social compliance and sustainability principles, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
Responsibilities- Serving as the primary point of contact for customers on social compliance and sustainability issues related to the hardgoods supply chain.
- Develop, lead and manage supply chain-specific social compliance and sustainability programs tailored to customer needs.
- Monitoring and reporting on social and environmental performance metrics, ensuring compliance are met with with customers' requirements.
- Bachelor's degree (BA) in Social and Environmental Sustainability, Business Management, Communications, Public Administration, or Government. Master's degree is desirable.
- At least 15+ years professional business experience of corporate social responsibility, human rights or ethical trade including eight years of experience at managerial level gained from international organizations with matrix structures.
- Well-versed in social compliance and sustainability principles and knowledge with solid exposures in driving and carrying out best practices in country labor, environmental and Health & Safety laws, and ILO Conventions.
- Strong experience in engaging suppliers in China.
- Solid understanding of social compliance standards such as RBA, BSCI, SA8000, ICTI and/or environmental compliance standards such as BEPI, ISO 14001, Detox, Higg Index. Amfori BSCI and BEPI preferred.
- Global mindset, customer centric, agility, innovation with strong sense of integrity.
- Positive with can-do attitude and be able to maintain high level of energy while working under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and drive cross-functional cooperation in a matrix environment.

- Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills. Able to clarify and simplify complex issues and subject matters.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, internal teams and suppliers.
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus. The company offers competitive benefits, including health, dental, life and personal accident insurances, paid days off, festival early leave, volunteer leave, and numerous sample sales and staff discount offers.
