About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Valuation and Analysis professional to join our team at AIA International Limited. As an Actuarial Valuation and Analysis Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality actuarial valuation and analysis, reviewing financial KPIs, and supporting strategic actuarial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage EV and VONB financial reporting on a regular basis, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Review detailed analysis and assist in identifying underlying key drivers for financial results.
  • Support auditor engagement for financial reporting.
  • Manage the team to prepare the annual budget exercise, perform regular forecast on financial KPIs, and highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Assess the impacts from assumption changes to facilitate decision-making.
  • Manage the team to ensure best practice for process & controls, maintain clearly documented audit trail of actuarial valuations, and support the delivery of high-quality financial results and analysis.
  • Support the continuous improvement in reporting process, including enhancement in systems, tools, process, and controls.
  • Identify areas for improving efficiency and optimizing the reporting process through process enhancement and automation.
  • Manage ad-hoc analysis, deep-dive analysis, or impact assessment to reveal financial implications.

  • Satisfactory level of stakeholders.
  • Accuracy, adherence to timeline, internal and external guidelines, and requirements.
  • Team engagement.
  • Managerial effectiveness.
Communication Requirements:

Internal (90%):

  • Actuarial / Capital Management - communication on actuarial matters and/or demonstration of compliance with guidelines.
  • Finance - communication on analysis of actuarial-related items upon request.
  • Internal auditor - demonstration of compliance with control and procedures.
  • IT & Operation - communication of actuarial requirements to IT & operation.
  • Other non-finance & actuarial team as required.

External (10%):

  • External auditor - demonstration of compliance with control and procedures.
  • Consultant - on special projects.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • University / College graduate in Actuarial Science or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Good progress in Actuarial professional examination.
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with and handle multiple priorities.
  • Experience and knowledge in insurance product and actuarial reporting work. Knowledge in IFRS 17 / HKRBC basis / economic capital is an asset.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software, e.g. Prophet is an advantage.
  • You are required to obtain relevant license if your job involves in regulated activities.
