About the Role

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join our team in Hong Kong. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, compliant, and reliable aircraft from heavy maintenance facilities on time and in the most cost-effective way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Safe and Reliable Aircraft: Ensure that aircraft are returned to service on time, within budget, and with minimal disruptions.
  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Programs: Design and execute maintenance check management processes to achieve optimal turnaround times (OTPs) and maximize aircraft availability.
  • Represent the Airline in Negotiations: Engage with Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) providers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and other external agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for the airline.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality in maintenance operations.
  • Manage Maintenance Labour Costs: Optimize labour costs by setting routine man-hour charges and scrutinizing non-routine costs to minimize expenses.
Requirements
  • Engineering Degree or Aircraft Maintenance Licence: A degree in engineering or an aircraft maintenance licence is preferred.
  • Good Understanding of Maintenance Philosophy: A solid grasp of maintenance principles and practices is essential.
  • Relevant Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in aircraft or maintenance planning, preferably with a background in leading business process improvements.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including MROs, OEMs, and other external agencies.
  • Knowledge of Cathay Pacific Maintenance Systems: Familiarity with Cathay Pacific's maintenance and engineering systems is desirable.
