About the Role
The Finance Operations Specialist will be responsible for leading or participating in process improvement initiatives within GBS and with business units to deliver efficiencies and benefits to internal and external customers. This includes managing enhancements in the Case Management system, undertaking project work relevant to the activities of GBS, and acting as a Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams and project meetings.
Key Responsibilities
The Source to Pay end-to-end process begins with spend analytics, followed by identifying suppliers, sourcing, contracting, buying, ordering, matching invoices, payment, and supplier management, which supplies data to begin the cycle again with spend analytics. The Source to Pay team within GBS structure focuses on the latter steps of this end-to-end process, including broadly the following: matching invoices to PO & good receipts, processing invoices for payment, and carrying out reject payment resolution. As a Finance Operations Specialist, you will drive the team to deliver services in a cost-effective and efficient way, with the aim of streamlining and automating the Accounts Payable processes.
Daily Operations
You will be responsible for the performance of the Accounts Payable Team in Guangzhou (GGT AP team), currently consisting of 9 staff, ensuring that accounts payable activities are performed within agreed procedures, standards, and time scales as defined by Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will also act as an escalation point for GGT AP team, assisting with complex queries and case resolution, and provide regular operational feedback to the GBS Manager – Source to Pay. Additionally, you will track, measure, and achieve defined department metrics, apply Lean processes to ensure that GBS meets or exceeds customer requirements, and maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a relevant discipline, preferably. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in Accounts Payable / Source to Pay administration, is required. Experience within Global Business Services / Shared Services environments is advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, customer-centricity, and ability to multi-task between daily operations and project initiatives in a fast-paced environment are essential. A strong written and verbal communication skill in both English and Chinese (Cantonese) is also necessary.
Salary
The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
