We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as a Associate. As a key member of our maritime transport team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract negotiation and a proven track record of successfully managing commercial transactions. You will work closely with our General Counsel to review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements
  • Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
  • Assisting in creating agendas for meetings and distributing relevant materials
  • Attending meetings, taking accurate notes, and preparing meeting summaries
  • Defining and developing internal legal governance policies
  • Identifying key risks facing the Group and providing management with advice on emerging risks and/or exposures

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people at all levels and work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdiction with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience
  • 3-6 years of working experience with reputable law firms and/or international companies with legal knowledge in the APAC region (including China)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; good command of both spoken and written Chinese and Mandarin is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
