Join Our Library Team

We are looking for a talented individual to join our library team at Victoria Shanghai Academy. As an Academic Resources Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting students and teachers with library material check-outs, assisting students in navigating library resources, and maintaining a quiet and welcoming library environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support students with borrowing library materials and provide guidance on using library resources.
  2. Maintain a well-organized library space, including creating displays and ensuring a tidy environment.
  3. Coordinate and manage library events and activities, such as workshops and book clubs.
  4. Catalogue and process new books and magazines, ensuring accurate inventory and easy access for students.
  5. Select and order new library materials, considering student interests and curriculum needs.
  6. Report monthly library borrowing statistics to inform collection development and resource allocation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree holder with a recognized diploma in library and information management or related field.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with children.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to work independently, and show initiative.
  • Strong IT literacy skills, particularly in using Google Docs and Google Sheets for data management and documentation.
  • Experience with Follett Destiny library management software and skilled in cataloging materials in both English and Chinese.
  • Eager to embrace opportunities for personal and professional growth, with a keen interest in continuous professional development in library services and children's and young adult literature.
  • Passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive library environment.
