Job Details:


The Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and support of server, storage, and backup systems to meet the required service level.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Plan, implement, and administrate servers, storage, and backup systems.
  • Perform Unix, Linux server upgrade, patching, and administration.
  • Assist in evaluating and standardizing server, storage, and hardware.
  • Support the planning of enhancements and refreshments of related technology infrastructure.
  • Define IT policy and standards pertaining to Unix, Linux, and backup.
  • Support upgrade and migration projects, such as OS upgrades and SAN storage EOL migrations.
  • Configure and administer SAN storage and SAN switches.
  • Support the Disaster Recovery Strategy.
  • Provide third-level support for problem resolution in cases escalated from outsourcing vendors.
  • Enhance backup sites between PRD, DR, UAT, and DEV environments.
  • Assist with data center operations, including hardware moves, arrangement of hardware replacements, and vendor support.
  • Set and execute backup policies.
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and standards for infrastructure.
  • Participate in infrastructure support.

Requirements:



  • Degree holder in Information Technology or related discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in Unix, Linux server, SAN storage, and backup tools implementation and support.
  • Certification in RHCE, Ansible, and/or Storage device is an added advantage.
  • At least three years of experience in supporting UNIX, Linux, and storage devices (Huawei, NetApp, DELL) and backup tools (CommVault/Netbackup).
  • Hands-on experience in data center operations, familiarity with server hardware specifications, cabling, and equipment.
  • Solid working experience in SAN storage and SAN switch administration.
  • Good knowledge of network protocols, Ethernet, VLAN, routing, and IP.
  • Familiarity with Ansible and shell scripting is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage vendors to perform project implementation and BAU supports.
  • Able to work or support production issues during non-office hours.
