Job Summary

The Vocational Training Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Lecturer (English and Communication) to join our team. As a key member of our Language Centre, you will be responsible for teaching and developing English language programs, as well as contributing to the development of curriculum and teaching materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English language courses to students, including supervision of projects and assignments
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and teaching materials, including language enhancement activities
  • Assist in student and academic administration, including advising students on academic matters
  • Participate in projects and functions of the Language Centre, including language enhancement activities

Requirements

  • A recognized degree in English Language, English Language and Literature, Language Studies (English), Linguistics, Education (English), English Communication, or Translation (English)
  • A relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (majoring in English), Teaching English as a Second Language, or Teaching English as a Foreign Language
  • Good communication, presentation, and digital skills
  • A good team player, able to work on own initiative and willing to meet challenges

Notes

  • The post is at the rank of Teaching Associate
  • Preference will be given to candidates with relevant teaching experience
  • Shortlisted applicants will be required to take a written assessment
