Job DescriptionThe Supervisor, Meetings & Events plays a pivotal role in building and maintaining client relationships, providing value-added guidance and support while adhering to client procedures and standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Venue and supplier sourcing, contract and commercial negotiations as well as financial budget and payment reconciliation
- Programme planning, on-site event management, and attendee registration management
- Serving as liaison between the client and venue/supplier(s) for the duration of the meeting and beyond
Additional scope includes programme planning, on-site event management, and attendee registration management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will require:
- Diploma or degree in Event Management or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' experience in planning meetings, incentives, conventions, conferences, and/or special events
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing outside vendors, sourcing, and negotiating contract services
- Minimum 2 years' experience in client management
- Proficiency in word processing and Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in database management
- First-hand experience of domestic and international group travel
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects
- Ability to work with and cooperate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to ever-changing scenarios
