Senior Manager, High Net Worth Underwriting Lead

Reporting to the Head of HNW Underwriting, the Senior Manager will deliver fair and consistent underwriting decisions, driving strong mortality results while maintaining a relentless Client Focus.
Key Responsibilities:
- To perform timely, accurate, and comprehensive risk assessments on HNW products and business, leveraging own underwriting authority.
- To lead HNW case management, ensuring a smooth end-to-end underwriting process.
- To negotiate with reinsurers for optimal offers, benefiting customers during facultative underwriting.
- To build and maintain proactive, positive, and productive relationships with sales channels, including case managers, to foster client relationships and meet high expectations.
- To provide high-quality underwriting services with effective communications for different sales channels.
- To take on ad-hoc projects, liaising with various parties to streamline and enhance underwriting processes and guidelines.
- To participate in HNW product development, data analysis, report preparation, and other underwriting support functions.
- To sustain a Culture of Compliance, supporting thorough and robust Client Due Diligence processes, including clear case documentation and record keeping.
- To monitor and control operation performance, ensuring compliance with Company rules and regulations, with regular audit exercises.
- To contribute to the team's development as a Centre of Competence in risk selection, providing training and guidance to new team members.
Requirements:
- A solid track record in underwriting, with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience exclusively in HNW products, with HNW authority at USD 10-15 Million level preferred.
- Professional qualification in Life Insurance, including FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute).
- Experience in product development, business administration, and client relationship management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- University Degree in any discipline.
- Good command of English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
- Proficiency in PC applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
