Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Insurance Risk Governance function, you will play a critical role in formulating and implementing our risk management strategies to ensure the company's financial and insurance risks are aligned with our Board-approved Risk Appetite Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Group Head of Insurance Risk Management to develop and recommend the Risk Appetite Framework to the Board.
  2. Work closely with local Chief Risk Officers to formulate the Risk Appetite Framework for financial and insurance risk for local Board approval.
  3. Design and implement control frameworks to manage financial and insurance risk in accordance with the Risk Appetite and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.
  4. Oversee and monitor the implementation of financial and insurance risk policies and relevant controls at the Group and Business Unit (BU) levels.
  5. Identify opportunities to efficiently manage financial and insurance risk and implement initiatives to mitigate these risks.
  6. Enhance the insurance risk infrastructure for actuarial, product, Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), Asset Liability Management (ALM), risk control, and monitoring.
  7. Develop and lead the insourcing of GIECA validation to provide independent assurance on the appropriateness of results.
  8. Maintain a comprehensive set of risk monitoring indicators to track insurance risk exposures at local and Group levels.
  9. Provide actionable advice on current and emerging issues for all business lines and oversee the management of local market risk management frameworks.
  10. Act as the second-line defense for risk management associated with financial and insurance risk, providing independent challenge to the business.
  11. Support corporate projects, such as GWS, IAIG, Gemini, M&A due diligence, and formulating integration strategies for actuarial, IFRS 17, and other initiatives.
  12. Lead industry practitioners to align industry interests with new regulations and standardize market practices.
  13. Form a strong and experienced team to deliver tasks as required by the Group Head of Insurance Risk Management, Group Chief Risk Officer, and Group Risk Committee.
  14. Supervise and support BU Insurance Risk Management functions.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Risk Management Specialist with:

  • Preferably a qualified actuary with 10+ years of insurance industry experience.
  • A financial or actuarial degree/qualification from a recognized university/association.

  • Deep insight and good understanding of actuarial and product development exercises.
  • Solid experience with valuation and capital management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with business acumen and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, rules, codes of conduct across markets.
