Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Project Controller to join our Finance - Management Reporting & Project Control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing project accounting, ensuring project financial governance and project portfolio reporting duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly book-closure process and book accounting journals for projects, including staff time card, accrual, depreciation, cost adjustments.
  • Develop, produce, and conduct analysis of financial and management reports pertaining to projects, including Capex report, depreciation report and variance analysis.
  • Support project portfolio budgeting and funding allocation to projects: Prepare financial analysis to facilitate management decision making. Provide analysis based on the monthly rolling project forecast.
  • Monitor project status for major projects for reporting purposes.
  • Guide project managers and supervise project initiation and closure process according to the project financial governance. Proactively engage with project managers and finance business partners on project accounting, project financial governance and project reporting.
  • Support external and internal audit requests.
  • Take initiatives to suggest improvements to processes, automation, or other enhancements.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required from time to time.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline with accounting and financial management experience. CPA is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of relevant working experience in financial reporting or management reporting. Experience in project life cycle management and governance would be a plus. Preferably in large financial institutions.
  • Conversant with Hyperion Planning, Oracle, Tableau or other Business Intelligence tools / dashboard.
  • Well-versed with Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must, fluency in written and spoken Chinese is preferred.
  • A team player who can work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons is required.
  • Strong data analysis skills and solid accounting knowledge are necessary
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
About the Role

This is a permanent position, and the selected candidate will be based at Exchange Square in Hong Kong SAR. We offer a standard 40-hour workweek and a competitive salary package.
