Cybersecurity Specialist

At the City University of Hong Kong, our Computing Services Centre plays a crucial role in managing the university's IT infrastructure and services.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with information security and project management. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the Zero Trusted Network Access (ZTNA) project deployment and coordinating with System Integrators and vendors to fine-tune the system according to CityUHK's requirements;
• Supporting Network Firewall administration and operations, encompassing traffic monitoring, rule management and configuration, performance monitoring, and firmware updates;
• Reviewing Work Requests (WRs) and translating them into configuration changes for network security-related Change Requests (CRs);
• Supporting the academic departments' network security tightening project;
• Performing regular security reviews on firewall policies and performing security tightening/housekeeping;
• Supporting building intelligence in SIEM to identify threats from reports provided by SOC and taking appropriate actions to close the loop;
• Assisting in information security investigations and carrying out forensic analysis;
• Performing any other duties as assigned.

We are seeking candidates with a strong sense of responsibility and good analytical skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese is also required. Professional certifications such as CISSP and CEH would be an advantage.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Management or related disciplines, with at least 5 years post-qualification working experience;
• Knowledge of Web Applications, Windows, and Linux operating systems, and networks;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
• Good analytical skills with a strong sense of responsibility;
• Hands-on experience with information security and project management;
• Professional certifications such as CISSP and CEH would be an advantage.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of IT Officer (Security).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

The remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract, and fringe benefits will include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
