Senior Restructuring and Insolvency Director

Our client, a leading independent advisory firm with a strong presence in Asia, is seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join their Hong Kong office as a member of their senior team. They specialize in providing expert advice on forensic accounting, corporate advisory, restructuring, turnaround, and insolvency services to clients across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day issues on restructuring and insolvency engagements, ensuring timely and effective delivery of results.
  • Oversee and ensure full compliance with statutory matters for insolvency, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Review and issue reports, correspondence, presentations, and other deliverables, showcasing expertise and analytical skills.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and clients.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, creditors, and other stakeholders, fostering trust and confidence in the firm's services.
  • Coach, train, and build capabilities of team members, promoting growth and development within the organization.
  • Be involved in business development and marketing activities, identifying new opportunities and driving growth.
  • Initiate and lead client meetings and strategy discussions with Senior Management, providing strategic guidance and support.
  • Review and oversee investigative work for asset recovery, including financial modeling, to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Reconstruct and review complex accounting records, applying expertise and analytical skills to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage a variety of projects and engagements, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, creditors, and other advisors, maintaining effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Law, or other Business-related discipline, with a strong academic record.
  • CA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including insolvency, restructuring, and forensic accounting, with a proven track record of success.
  • Proven track record of business development, with experience in identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
  • Experience leading all aspects of engagements and working with C-Suite, financial institutions, and other stakeholders, with a strong understanding of business needs and drivers.
  • Strong business acumen, autonomous, and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong team player with extensive experience in leading and managing multiple engagements and teams, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience in cross-border matters is advantageous, with a strong understanding of international laws and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with a strong understanding of business software and systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts effectively.
  • Ability to write concise and clearly structured reports, with a focus on clarity and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of business needs, drivers, and foundations, with a strong ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
