About the Role

We are seeking a high-calibre professional to join our team as an Investment Analyst. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, preparing investment paper submissions, and managing internal approval processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate investment opportunities through detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Prepare investment paper submissions and manage internal approval processes.
  • Support the wider team in monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, including tracking key financial metrics and providing operational support as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, startup ecosystem partners, and emerging technologies relevant to the CVC space.
Leadership & Teamwork
  • Accountability to the HK-based Head of Investments, Asia, and ultimately the Head of HSBC Ventures.
  • Stakeholder management, including external and internal stakeholders.
Functional Knowledge
  • Understanding of the Venture Capital, Startup, and technology industries.
  • Understanding of financial markets and key trends.
  • Experience in research, analysis, and presentations on industries, companies, and strategies.
  • Experience in financial modelling and company valuations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and presentation deck preparation skills.
Requirements
  • Some experience in working experience in relevant fields (Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Consulting).
  • Bachelor's degree and above from a reputable university, majoring in related fields preferred.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • Passionate interest in venture capital, technology, or financial services sectors, with a keen awareness of the latest trends and innovative business models.
  • Action-driven with a sense of urgency, balanced with strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Highly effective communicator who can work with multi-jurisdictional, cross-functional, geographically-dispersed teams.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin, native in Mandarin is a plus.
