Operations Support Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Support Supervisor to lead our team in ensuring efficient operations, including procurement, materials management, logistics, and warehousing activities. The successful candidate will oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, prepare merchandise for shipping, maintain records, and expedite workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production parts inventory and coordinate with the US material team and local operations team on replenishment and stocking levels.
- Track critical parts, monitor daily deliveries, investigate missed commitments, and communicate recovery dates.
- Guide the procurement team and assist in the negotiation process for non-production materials to ensure the procurement process is executed per standard work/processes.
- Support the overall needs of the business while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure business needs are met and pricing is obtained from the supply base is competitive.
- Drive cost reductions where possible, improve relations with existing suppliers, and find new suppliers who can meet our needs more efficiently.
- Oversee the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production.
- Manage material inventory, supplier integration strategies (VMI/3PL/supermarkets), and import/export controls.
- Coordinate activities for materials and logistics problem resolution to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
- Plan and maintain proper staffing levels in the area of responsibility.
- Set goals, targets, and career objectives for each team member and monitor their performance.
- Champion an environment of relentless continuous improvement and actively participate in and lead continuous improvement events and projects.
- Ensure all production and support personnel operate in full compliance with the RTX Code of Ethics, regulatory requirements, and RTX/Collins company policies.
- Ensure the workplace is safe and free of significant hazards and is a champion for worker safety, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 0-10% travel required.
Basic Qualifications
- Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with processes such as preparing merchandise for shipping, maintaining records, and scheduling shop loading.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve goals and objectives.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics software.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and optimize workflow.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
