Information Technology Specialist

Reporting to the IT Manager, the selected candidate will serve as an in-house authority in application and integration development for IT and digital solutions to facilitate the extensive Digital Transformation and daily operations of the University. The primary responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the software development and upkeep of the student information system and other administrative functions;
- Evaluating user needs, designing, and crafting IT solutions to meet business requirements;
- Ensuring that the responsible systems receive adequate support through timely resolution of issues, maintenance of documentation, and development of training materials;
- Enhancing business processes by collaborating with business and IT process owners to identify and implement new and improved system functionalities;
- Fostering effective partnerships and teamwork through close cooperation with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors;
- Assisting the supervisor in conducting feasibility studies, solution planning, and proof-of-concept for new technologies or solutions;
- Supporting various IT projects and assignments as directed.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
- Strong knowledge of and/or experience in any of the following: SQL, PL/SQL, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Python, jQuery, and Bootstrap with Oracle Database;
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
- A fast learner with a proactive attitude, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently;
- Familiarity with Ellucian Banner and Exadata;
- Knowledge of and experience in any of the following would be advantageous: SharePoint Administration; RPA (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism); Low code development platforms (e.g., DragOnce, Power Platforms, Outsystems, Dell Boomi Flow); Data Management & Analytics (e.g., Azure Synapse, Power BI, Qlik, Alteryx, Tableau); API management (e.g., Mulesoft, Dell Boomi); Agile development, DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Compensation and Benefits
The remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will be on a fixed-term contract, with fringe benefits including gratuity, leave, and medical and dental schemes.
