We are looking for a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineering and Development Specialist to join our team at BioMetallica. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and scaling up our metal recovery systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced chemical and metallurgical processes to improve metal recovery efficiency.
  • Leverage your expertise in separation science, thermodynamics, and kinetics to optimize process parameters and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement pilot plant systems, ensuring alignment with environmental and safety standards.
  • Develop and execute protocols for safe handling and recovery of precious metals, with a focus on low-energy and environmentally sustainable methods.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Biomining, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in chemical and metallurgical process engineering, with expertise in separation science, thermodynamics, and kinetics related to metal recovery.
  • Proficiency in process modeling and simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HSC Chemistry, MATLAB) for chemical engineering calculations and process optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with designing and operating unit processes such as leaching, electrochemical separation, ion exchange, and crystallization.
  • Knowledge of industrial plant design, including equipment sizing, process flow diagrams (PFD), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards related to metallurgical processing.
  • Ability to lead pilot and production scale-up projects, including troubleshooting and optimization of plant operations.
