Fintech Research Scientist

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with academic staff to facilitate and enhance empirical investigations in the Fintech sector, with a particular focus on the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as well as multimodal content examination.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing natural language processing algorithms tailored for Chinese language data, encompassing both pre-training and fine-tuning of linguistic models.
The candidate will also be expected to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess (i) a PhD degree for the Research Associate role, or a master's or bachelor's degree for the Research Assistant role in fields such as computer science, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, or related areas; (ii) robust quantitative abilities along with experience in data cleansing, manipulation, and analysis; (iii) a solid understanding of NLP methodologies for text representation, semantic extraction strategies, data structures, and modeling; and (iv) the capacity to work autonomously while being a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Experience in sentiment analysis and advanced text analytical capabilities in Chinese are highly regarded. Familiarity with the financial market is an added advantage.
Contract Duration
This position is for a duration of 1 year, with the possibility of renewal.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary will be aligned with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include annual leave, medical, and dental coverage.
