Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Affairs Manager to join our team at Hong Kong Cyberport Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and executing public affairs strategies and lobbying plans to drive Cyberport development and its related statutory procedures expansion and budget initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Public Affairs Strategies

Formulate and execute public affairs strategies and lobbying plans to drive Cyberport development and its related statutory procedures expansion and budget initiative.

Engage with Stakeholders

Drive extensive stakeholder engagement with various parties, including but not limited to members of Legislative Council (LegCo) and Southern District Council (SDC), key opinion leaders, local community groups, academia, schools, in a professional and effective manner.

Communicate Effectively

Write and edit papers, letters, summaries, advertorials, press releases, regular and ad-hoc reports as well as line-to-take, Q&As and speech in a timely and professional manner.

Research and Analyze

Research and provide deep insight into public affairs (including government policies, LegCo and community affairs), digital tech market and economic trend, industry structure, key players and stakeholders as well as collect business intelligence for the formulation of corporate development plan.

Monitor and Respond

Assess public perception through media and social monitoring and handle complaints as well as respond to enquiries involving operational, compliance and policy issues from the district and key stakeholders, government, and statutory bodies.

Collaborate and Communicate

Handle interviews and press conferences as appropriate as well as facilitate effective collaboration across business units and external stakeholders.

Support Issue Management

Support issue management and perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements
  • Education

A Bachelor's degree or above from a recognized university, preferably from Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, or technology related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience with commercial or sizable organization, government, or semi-government bodies.

Skills and Qualities

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent writing and flawless editing skills in both English and Chinese, fluent in Putonghua, excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, adaptability, highly independent and motivated, pro-active personality with strong leadership qualities, able to work under pressure and heavy workload in a sophisticated environment and deadline-driven environment, strong network with political parties and familiar with government structure.

Contract Terms

The position is on a renewable 2-year fixed-term contract, subject to performance and operational needs, the position will convert into open contract after 2 years.
