Key Responsibilities- Lead Underwriting Teams: Direct and manage underwriting teams to ensure excellence in service delivery to sales channels.
- Monitor Team Performance: Oversee team performance to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met, and the end-to-end underwriting journey is smooth and efficient.
- Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments on case underwriting, adhering to underwriting authority guidelines.
- Coach and Develop Team Members: Review suggested cases from junior underwriters, provide coaching, and contribute to staff development.
- Centre of Competence: Contribute to the team's development as a Centre of Competence in risk selection, providing training and guidance to new team members.
- Process Improvement: Take on projects, liaise with stakeholders, and streamline underwriting processes, product development, data analysis, and reporting.
- Culture of Compliance: Sustain a Culture of Compliance, supporting thorough and robust Client Due Diligence processes, clear case documentation, and record keeping.
- Client Relationships: Manage, build, and nurture proactive, positive, and productive relationships with sales channels to foster client relationships and meet frontline expectations.
- Operational Performance: Monitor and control operation performance to ensure compliance with Company rules and regulations, with regular audit exercises.
- Underwriting Experience: Solid track record in underwriting, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in life insurance underwriting, including 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Professional Qualifications: Professional qualification in Life Insurance, including FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute).
- Business Acumen: Experience in product development, project management, business administration, and client relationship management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Education: University degree in any discipline.
- Language Skills: Good command of English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
- Technical Skills: PC literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing.
