Senior Technical Engineer of SMO (Service & Maintenance Organization) Position : Senior Technical Engineer of SMO (Service & Maintenance Organization) Company : Hitachi East Asia Limited Division : Particle Beam Therapy Department Status : Full Time Position Shifts : We have 3 shifts as follows and shifts will be changed weekly base. A Shift: 7:00 – 16:00, B Shift: 9:00 – 18:00, C Shift: 11:00 – 20:00 (Working hours: 8 hours, Breaktime: 1 hour, sometimes we have overtime work.) Sometimes we work on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. In case of work on holidays, compensation leaves will be provided. Summary Hitachi East Asia Ltd. ( is looking for a candidate of Senior Technical Engineer to work on the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) System in Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH). Hitachi has partnered with HKSH to establish Service & Maintenance Organization (SMO) to support the hospital's particle beam therapy. To ensure the safe and continuous operation of particle beam therapy, we will specifically perform the following tasks: Daily system startup/shutdown System monitoring during particle beam therapy Preventive Maintenance (Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Annual/etc.) Corrective maintenance (Depending on the situation, we will respond in coordination with Japan.) System or proton beam performance improvement work (implemented as needed) Responsibilities Providing necessary resources to implement service and maintenance activities. Ensuring necessary maintenance and service activities are implemented to keep system available for treatment. Handling technical inquiries from the customer. Receiving complaints from the customer and transmitting them to complaint system. Executing Field Safety Corrective Action directed by Manufacturer. Approving the record when SMO performs work at the site, they record their activities in a Maintenance Report. Analyzing the Maintenance Reports at every quarter to identify whether there are any trends in the defects observed during the period. Approving to procure spare parts, consumable items and other necessity items which are related not only to maintaining PBT system, but also the office items. Mandatory Bachelor’s or higher degree holder or tertiary educated with Technical Certification in Engineering or a related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Field Measurement, etc.) 10 + years of working experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Field Measurement field etc. 3 + years of working experience as senior engineer or equivalent position who instruct junior engineers Must be able to work at elevated heights of at least 35 feet No physical disabilities and able to climb and descend stairs and ladders without difficulty High Requirements Strong communication skills for internal and external Interpersonal skills to make good relationships with the customer and Hitachi Japan Leadership in cross-functional team Organizational management skillsFlexibility response and mind skills Reading, Writing and Speaking of English (Japanese is not mandatory.) Basic knowledge of Microsoft software such as MS word, MS Excel, MS Power Point etc. Ability to read electrical diagrams Ability to use electrical measuring instruments (Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter etc.) Logical thinking ability to solve the troubles (Trouble shooting skills) Compliance with laws and regulations Requirements Experience providing maintaining services for medical devices or industrial plants Holder of Radiation Protection Supervisor Certificate is an advantage.
