Role Overview We are seeking a Presales Engineer (Technical Solutions) to join our Hong Kong team. This is a deeply technical role designed to bridge the gap between our sales team, engineering team, and clients. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical resource during the sales process, ensuring that client needs are translated into realistic, effective, and scalable solutions. The role focuses on solution design and pre‑deployment consultation only – it does not involve project management or implementation. Core Responsibilities Act as the technical expert supporting the sales team throughout the sales cycle. Understand client requirements, analyze feasibility, and translate them into viable technical solutions. Clearly explain complex solutions to clients, partners, and internal teams. Support the technical aspects of tender responses and participate in tender interviews. Collaborate closely with the engineering team to define standard (bundle) vs. customized solutions. Manage client expectations by guiding them toward realistic and budget‑aligned solutions. Serve as a bridge between sales and engineering, ensuring both teams are aligned on solution feasibility and delivery. Ideal Candidate Profile Technical Expertise (Primary Requirement) Strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields. Solid understanding of software, systems architecture, and emerging technologies (AI, SaaS, IoT, or video analytics experience is a plus). Ability to assess solution feasibility and suggest alternatives when needed. Client‑Facing Skills Strong communication skills; capable of translating technical solutions into clear, client‑friendly language. Able to manage discussions with clients and guide them toward realistic, workable solutions. Not required to “sell,” but must be confident in supporting sales with technical depth. Solution‑Oriented Mindset Skilled in balancing client requirements with technical and budget constraints. Ability to ask the right questions, challenge unrealistic expectations, and align stakeholders on practical solutions. Strong problem‑solving and consultative mindset.
