We are seeking a highly motivated Bioassay Research Scientist to join our innovative drug discovery team in Hong Kong. In this role, you will develop and run cell‑based and biochemical assays to evaluate the activity, potency and mechanism of action of our small‑molecule drug candidates, working closely with chemists and other scientists to advance programs towards preclinical development. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and optimise in vitro assays (cell‑based and/or biochemical) to support small‑molecule drug discovery projects. Perform routine cell culture, prepare assay plates and execute experiments according to established and newly generated protocols. Generate high‑quality data to assess compound potency, selectivity and mechanism of action, and support hit validation and lead optimisation. Analyse and interpret experimental results, summarise findings and provide clear data‑driven recommendations to project teams. Maintain accurate and complete experimental records, including protocols, raw data and reports, in electronic lab notebooks. Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists and other team members to refine assay strategies and prioritise compound testing. Contribute to troubleshooting and continuous improvement of assay robustness, reproducibility and throughput. Present results in internal meetings and contribute to technical reports, slide decks and documentation for project reviews. Job Requirements MSc or PhD in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a closely related discipline. At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in assay development or in‑vitro pharmacology in biotech, pharma or an equivalent research environment. Strong practical experience in mammalian cell culture and common in‑vitro techniques (e.g. viability/proliferation assays, reporter assays, ELISA or similar). Familiarity with plate readers and basic data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, GraphPad Prism or similar) and the ability to generate clear figures and summaries. Proven ability to follow and optimise experimental protocols, with strong attention to detail and data quality. Good communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross‑functional team. Self‑motivated, organised and comfortable working in a fast‑paced innovative drug discovery setting. Nice to Have Experience in oncology‑focused projects or small‑molecule drug discovery. Experience with high‑throughput or high‑content screening, automation or imaging‑based assays. Prior collaboration with CROs or external research partners. #J-18808-Ljbffr
