Interior Designer

The Role As an Incredible Interior Designer in Interspace, you will work together with the senior members of our company to prepare presentation packages and attend presentations for our workplace design pitches, recommend design references and materials, and develop plans and drawings for our ongoing projects. Mid‑level Interior Designers may have the opportunity to manage design for smaller‐sized projects independently. Outstanding applicants may level up to Senior Interior Designer . Candidates with less experience may be offered an Assistant Interior Designer position. Since we are a Design & Build company with our own fitting‑out team, you will gain unique experience unavailable at typical design consultancies: bid estimation, construction project management, materials sourcing and procurement, and a deep understanding of technical/shop drawings for all trades. Working with our experienced team is (of course) a fantastic way to develop your portfolio too The Package Salary: up to HK$34,000 per month for Interior Designer depending on experience and ability; up to HK$26,000 per month for Assistant Interior Designer ; compensation for Senior Interior Designer is subject to negotiation. Raises/Promotions: Assessed by the Directors on your employment anniversary. Bonus: Performance‑based (company + individual) with a work‑anniversary incentive. Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Annual Leave: 12 days. Company Holidays: Standard "Bank Holidays" (i.e. General Holidays). The Hard Part Do you have what it takes to join our team? You graduated from a university‑level program with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture, and you have at least 3 full years experience working in the interior design field in Hong Kong. For Interior Designer level: you must have at least 2 years of experience handling workplace design projects . Exceptional candidates without degrees will still be considered, but we cannot accept fresh graduates or candidates with less than 3 years of real interior design experience at this time. You can communicate in English confidently . Most of our clients work in multi‑national businesses. We would prefer if you can also speak Cantonese and Mandarin so that you can communicate with suppliers and sub‑contractors. You have plenty of practical experience using AutoCAD and SketchUp with Enscape in a team/collaborative studio (there are no solo warriors here). You should be willing to adapt your working style to a common standard for smooth collaboration with your teammates. We have adopted the Affinity suite as an alternative to Adobe and use it extensively in our design process, and you must be prepared to learn how to use this and other unfamiliar new tools as part of your daily routine. You are an over‑achiever with above‑average intelligence and a highly creative sense of design. Your portfolio of past work should impress us, and you should be able to directly answer every question we ask you during the interview process. In our team, you should demonstrate your ambition and desire to ascend to a higher position through your work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to take on additional responsibilities. You have a keen sense of personal responsibility and are able to manage and motivate yourself to complete tasks ahead of schedule at an above standard level. Availability after typical working hours and during weekends (as needed) is a basic requirement of this role, as we must satisfy our clients' requirements for deliverables and attendance during site visits.
