Anfield is an independent Catholic, International School, comprising of a Primary School, SEN School (Primary) and 2 large Kindergartens, whose curriculum is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage, followed by the English National Curriculum. We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational and experienced music teacher who is able to demonstrate their outstanding impact on pupil progress and whole school performance. A commitment to taking an active part in the school’s extra-curricular music programme, including directing choirs and other ensembles is essential. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team committed to continuing the development and success of the schools.

The successful applicant will be:

In addition, the successful applicant will:

  • have a passion to inspire pupils and do whatever it takes to achieve success
  • have proven, successful experience in teaching and leading the music requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and English National Curriculum
  • have experience in teaching music in a kindergarten/primary school
  • have a commitment and passion for teaching music to young children as a practical subject with a focus on achieving the best learning outcomes
  • have an ability to help and support students in realising their performance and compositional intentions
  • have a sound understanding of the theory of music
  • have a broad taste in music, including music from non-western cultures and a willingness to embrace how music is evolving through technology
  • have skills as a competent performer or composer in their own right
  • be willing to demonstrate and model singing and performing in the classroom
  • have a commitment and a desire to get involved in Anfield’s extensive and vibrant extra-curricular music programme
  • have a repertoire of strategies to teach students with additional learning needs
  • have experience of managing others and supporting them to develop their teaching practice
  • have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be experienced in establishing and maintaining good professional relationships
  • have knowledge of, and commitment to, all current safeguarding procedures

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • B.Ed (Hons) or PGCE with QTS
  • a minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching music, working with Early Years/Primary aged children
  • exceptional communication skills/English language skills
  • high levels of ICT capability

The successful applicants will be outstanding teaching practitioners, who will also possess other pastoral strengths. High levels of IT skills are essential, as is a willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the School.
