We seek a high-caliber professional for the role of Assistant Vice President, Wealth Tax Operations Team Lead (Internal Title: Securities & Derivatives Sr Analyst – C12) in Hong Kong. In this role, you will: Validate and submit non-US and US tax reports across jurisdictions and products. Analyze tax transaction withholding processes from front to back. Gain institutional knowledge of Citi’s business segments and legal entities, providing leadership and SME expertise to the Client Tax Operations team. Resolve tax reporting issues and queries. Implement controls through testing and communicate operational changes. Develop business requirements for system enhancements and manage their implementation. Improve tax operations efficiency, controls, and resilience. Streamline processes, mitigate risks, and share knowledge within the team. Stay informed on future taxation trends and communicate with stakeholders. Lead projects and process improvements involving cross-functional teams. Perform reconciliations and ensure tax data accuracy and timeliness. Support audits, controls, and governance processes. Manage team tasks, monitor KPIs, and escalate issues as needed. Participate in governance forums and collaborate with business and technology partners. Support internal and external audits related to tax controls. Lead and support team development and organizational goals. Ideal candidate skills and experience: Experience in tax reporting and operational tax processes. 4-6 years of team leadership experience. Solid background in Tax Operations (Direct/Indirect Tax, Withholding Tax, GST, Trading Tax). Proven stakeholder management skills in a cross-functional environment. Leadership experience. Deep understanding of taxes and operational processes. Knowledge of investment products and processes. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint. Effective communication skills tailored to audiences. Ability to manage shifting priorities and demands. Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably MBA in finance/banking. Experience in a corporate culture and implementing global processes.
