This is a fixed-term contract position of 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance. Responsibilities Work closely with the Collection Archivist on the setup of new procedures aligning to museum/cultural institutions’ practices, actively contributing to their continuous development, influencing and engaging relevant stakeholders for buy-in. Support the supervisor on the daily supervision of Archives Assistants’ work, and directly manage the work of contracted staff and interns on particular projects. Lead and collaborate with other M+ teams in planning and implementing digitisation, cataloguing, and/or exhibition projects; ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Contribute to the acquisition process, supporting assessments and documentation of new archival acquisition proposals. Arrange, describe, and preserve archival collections acquired as part of the M+ Collection Archives and the Institutional Archives, including setting up cataloguing projects involving contracted staff and other museum stakeholders. Work with Library and Archives team members on the coordination of the Archives side of the M+ Research Centre, including daily operations, and propose the development of procedures or protocols based on the facility’s needs. Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned by M+. Qualifications Possess a recognised degree or postgraduate degree equivalent in archives or records management, library/information science with a specialisation in archives or records management. Have at least 3–5 years of relevant experience working with archives in an archives, library or museum, or in a records management position. Have extensive experience in the use of database systems and data standards to catalogue and manage archives. Have proven experience in the physical management of archival material, including preservation procedures and working with preservation equipment suppliers. Have experience in managing projects and working with cross-museum stakeholders, including digitisation, outreach programmes, etc. Have exposure in building relationships to ensure compliance with archives and records management procedures in a large organisation. Be a confident self-starter with the initiative to progress projects while aligning with the organisation’s larger goals. Be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese, including the ability to write and present confidently in both languages.
