About M+ M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Located in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, we are one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. Position: Associate Archivist Location: West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong. Responsibilities Work with M+ and WKCDA teams to examine current record keeping practices and implement an information management policy and procedures for paper and digital records. Appraise, catalogue, and preserve paper and digital records created by M+ as part of the M+ Institutional Archive, following international archival standards and internal policies. Manage access by staff and the public to M+’s Institutional Archive and promote its use in museum exhibitions and digital/print platforms. Supervise the work of the Research Centre Assistant, A&L interns or A&L Assistants as required. Provide assistance and advice to all other departments of M+ and WKCDA using professional archival knowledge and knowledge of the M+ Collection and Institutional Archives. Undertake other duties related to the management of the archives and the daily running of the Research Centre. Qualifications Recognised postgraduate qualification in Archives or Records Management, or in Library/Information Science. At least four years of experience within an archive, library or museum, or preferably in a records management position. Extensive experience in the use of database systems and data standards to catalogue and manage archives and/or digital assets. Experience in writing and updating procedure documents for archives management. Experience in the physical management of archival material, including preservation procedures and working with suppliers. Good communication skills and experience building relationships to ensure compliance with archives and records management procedures. Aware of legal responsibilities around records and archives in Hong Kong, including data protection and public sector records management guidelines. Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese; able to write and present confidently in both languages. Application Deadline Submit your application with a detailed CV on or before .
