We are expanding our core protocol team and seeking an experienced DeFi Risk Manager with deep expertise in decentralized perpetuals, liquidation mechanics, and on‑chain risk management. Ideal candidates have hands‑on experience navigating extreme market conditions—such as prolonged funding‑rate dislocations, cascading liquidations, and severe drawdowns—while actively stress‑testing insurance funds and implementing risk parameter adjustments that safeguard protocol integrity. Responsibilities Continuously monitor on‑chain and off‑chain portfolio risk: funding rates, open interest, leverage distribution, skew, basis risk, and liquidation cascades. Detect and investigate anomalous on‑chain behavior (large position builds, oracle attacks, flash‑loan driven liquidations, MEV‑related manipulation attempts) in real time. Design and run extreme stress tests and scenario analysis tailored to DeFi‑specific risks (oracle failures, peg breaks, cross‑protocol contagion, funding rate explosions, liquidity droughts). Build and maintain internal risk dashboards, liquidation simulators, and monitoring tools in Python/SQL; integrate with on‑chain data via Dune, The Graph, or direct node queries. Collaborate with protocol engineers on risk engine upgrades, circuit breakers, and pause‑guardian logic. Requirements 3–7+ years in market/liquidation risk, with at least 2 years focused on DeFi protocols, decentralized exchanges, or Crypto Exchanges. Direct experience managing risk for decentralized perpetuals platforms is a massive advantage. Deep understanding of perpetuals‑specific risks: funding rate arbitrage, open interest imbalances, basis risk, index price manipulation, liquidation engine griefing. Strong Python (pandas, NumPy, jupyter) and SQL; experience pulling and analyzing on‑chain data (Dune SQL, Flipside, custom subgraphs). Comfortable reading and auditing Solidity risk/limit modules and proposing parameter changes via governance. Familiarity with modern DeFi tooling: The Graph, Dune Analytics, Chaos Labs, Sentio, or similar risk platforms is a strong plus. Excellent communication – you can explain a potential liquidation cascade to engineers, governance participants, and the public with equal clarity.
