SM/AD- Investment accounting - up to 85k A well established life insurance company is looking for an Investment Accounting Senior Manager to join its HK team. Role Own the Investment Accounting Cycle: Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes for the investment portfolio, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to tight deadlines. IFRS 9 & 17 Expertise: Ensure robust application of IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) for classification, measurement, impairment (ECL), and hedge accounting. Work closely with the actuarial team on the investment‑related aspects of IFRS 17. Control & Governance: Design, implement, and maintain a strong internal control framework over investment operations and reporting. Serve as a key contact for internal and external audits. Stakeholder Leadership: Partner strategically with Investment, Risk, Actuarial, and IT departments to improve data flows, system enhancements, and business processes. Team Development: Mentor and develop a team of investment accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Technical Advisory: Provide expert guidance on new investment initiatives, product launches, and the accounting implications of complex transactions. Your Profile 8+ years of relevant experience, with a significant portion gained within the life‑insurance industry. In‑depth, hands‑on experience with IFRS 9 (and IFRS 17 is a strong plus) in an insurance context. Direct experience with the accounting and operational aspects of Investment‑Linked Assurance Schemes (ILAS) or similar unit‑linked products. Previous training and foundational experience from a Big‑4 accounting firm is strongly preferred. Proven track record of managing the investment accounting close for a large, complex portfolio.
