Chair Professor/Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (Crime Science) in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (Ref. We are now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors/Associate Professors/Professors/Chair Professors (on substantiation-track) in all academic fields with special focuses on One Health, Digital Society, Smart City, Matter, Brain , and related interdisciplinary areas. Research fields of particular interest include, but not limited to: biomedical science and engineering veterinary science computer science and data science neuroscience and neural engineering bio-statistics and AI-healthcare smart/semi-conductor manufacturing AI/robotics/autonomous systems aerospace and microelectronics engineering energy generation and storage digital business and innovation management fintech and business analytics computational social sciences digital humanities digital and new media law and technology healthy, smart and sustainable cities Successful candidates should have a demonstrated ability to build a world‑class research programme related to CityUHK’s strategic research areas, plus a commitment to education and student mentorship. Candidates must possess a doctorate in their respective field by the time of appointment. Duties Successful candidates will be expected to carry out undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, develop relevant curriculum, supervise students on research projects and under practicum/internship, and manage student activities and academic programmes. They will also be expected to undertake research relevant to their field of expertise and promote/participate in cross/interdisciplinary projects; contribute to departmental administration and knowledge transfer; work collegially with members of the CityU community; and represent the discipline of Criminology and Crime Science in the public sphere. Requirements A PhD in Criminology/Crime Science or related disciplines. Candidates are expected to have strong competency in integrating knowledge and scientific methods from many disciplines to the development of practical and ethical ways to reduce crime and increase security. They should have a strong track record in research, publications and grant acquisitions in their specialised fields. Preference will be given to those who are able to teach multi-disciplines. Candidates for Assistant Professor should have demonstrated potential for high‑impact publication and grant capture. Candidates for Associate Professor should have a strong record of original intellectual achievements, as evidenced by research or publications and grant capture as well as a strong teaching record and contributions to instructional development. Candidates for Chair Professor and Professor should have a portfolio of significant contributions to their field of scholarship (including publications and the receipt of research grants or funds), and a strong record of providing leadership in teaching and educational activities (including supervision of graduate students) and professional experience. Salary and Conditions of Service Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.
