No Offer Description Ref.: Work type:Full-timeDepartment:Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (20600)Categories:Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment asTenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: ), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a related discipline with a strong, fundable research area that fits with the Department's research areas. They should have a proven track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants, and demonstrated ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives. They should also show a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Applicants for the Associate Professor level should also have demonstrated evidence of regional and international standing in their research field and a proven leadership track record. The appointee is expected to conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research and attract competitive grants to maintain active research programmes. He/She will take part in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and supervise research postgraduate students. He/She is also expected to perform administrative duties. Information about the Department can be obtained at A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salary tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
